EVALUATE THE IMPACT OF HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE AND HEALTHCARE SERVICES ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC PRODUCTIVITY IN SIVAGANGAI REGION

Abstract Health is fundamental to national progress, and nothing is more significant than the health of the people in terms of socio-economic development. Despite this, many in the developing world, especially the 70 per cent residing in rural areas, lack access to modern medical and healthcare delivery systems. This leads to high rates of preventable morbidity and mortality. The issue lies not in a lack of professional knowledge but in poor healthcare administration. Proper planning, effective implementation, and adequate health infrastructure are crucial for delivering the benefits of modern science and technology to the people. The Twelfth Plan (2012-2017) prioritized reducing infant and maternal mortality rates, achieving universal health access, and controlling diseases. Significant funds were allocated to the health sector. However, developing countries like India still struggle to expand healthcare infrastructure and provide basic services to all. Radical reforms are needed to ensure equity, equality, and quality healthcare. This research aims to evaluate the impact of health infrastructure and healthcare services on human development and economic productivity in the Sivagangai region. By analyzing healthcare facilities, accessibility, and population health, the study will examine the influence on key human development indicators like life expectancy, infant mortality, and literacy rates. Additionally, the research will explore the economic implications of health, including labor productivity, workforce participation, and poverty reduction. Through a comprehensive analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, this study will provide valuable insights into the critical role of health in driving sustainable development in the Sivagangai region. Keywords: Health Infrastructure & Services, Human Development, Economic Productivity, Health Impact and Sustainable Development
