MIDDLE BRONZE AGE MONOCHROME PAINTED VESSELS OF NAKHCHIVAN
The Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000–1500 BC) is considered an important stage in the material and cultural development of Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus. The Nakhchivan region, being one of the ancient cultural centers of Azerbaijan, is distinguished by its rich archaeological materials dating back to the Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000–1500 BC). The Middle Bronze Age is a fairly rich and dynamic stage in terms of cultural complex. This period is of particular importance from an archaeological point of view as a period in which both local development and broad regional cultural influences combined. One of the most important aspects of this period is the rise of ceramic art. Monochrome painted vessels of the Middle Bronze Age occupy a special place in the material cultural history of the region. These vessels, made at a high technical and aesthetic level, were used both in everyday life and in religious and ceremonial contexts.
