HapTune: An Open-Source Visual Tool for Designing User-Defined Haptic Signals

HapTune is an open-source visual authoring tool for designing both low- and high-frequency haptic signals without writing code. This tool enables users to create waveforms from scratch or adapt existing ones through a flexible interface that supports point-based editing, spline interpolation, envelope modulation, and tunable multi-frequency synthesis. HapTune provides fine-grained control over the temporal and spectral features of haptic feedback signals and offers live spectral visualization and export to actuator-compatible formats (e.g., CSV/Excel for force and vibration output). It is suitable for applications including haptic feedback design, texture rendering, thermal signal shaping, and robotic actuation control. This tool was presented as a demo paper at the World Haptics Conference (WHC) 2025. 🔗 Source code: https://github.com/mudassir-awan/HapTune
