GROUND STATES FOR THE POTTS MODEL WITH COMPETING INTERACTIONS ON CAYLEY TREE
This paper investigates the ground states of the q-state Potts model on the Cayley tree, incorporating both nearest neighbor (J₁) and next-nearest neighbor (J₂) interactions. By analyzing 81 possible spin configurations on a central vertex and its direct neighbors, we compute the energy of each configuration using the Hamiltonian and determine which minimize the energy. The results contribute to a better understanding of the phase behavior of statistical systems with competing interactions.
