Synergy of the real and the virtual in sociocultural reality
Oxana I. Elkhova’s article "Synergy of the Real and the Virtual in Sociocultural Reality" explores the increasing integration of virtual and real environments, redefining human perception, communication, and cultural experiences. The study examines how virtual reality (VR) and digital technologies create a synergistic effect, producing unique sociocultural phenomena that transcend traditional distinctions between existence and non-existence. The article highlights the transformative impact of VR in education, art, and social interactions, where virtual classrooms, digital exhibitions, and online communities reshape learning and engagement. It also addresses the philosophical question of the ontological status of virtual objects, emphasizing their emotional and cognitive influence on individuals. The paper argues that rather than opposing forces, the real and the virtual function as complementary elements of contemporary sociocultural structures. Through fractal patterns of interaction, social networks and digital media shape new forms of communication, identity, and socialization, fostering cultural diversity in the digital era. The study concludes that the synergy between reality and virtuality is not only reshaping human relationships and societal structures but also expanding the very framework of human experience, positioning individuals as active creators of an evolving digital world.
