Quantum Computing and the Future of Cryptographic Security: Navigating Threats with Quantum and Post-Quantum Solutions
Quantum computers are powerful machines that can solve problems too hard for normal com-puters. But this power also creates danger. Many of today’s cryptographic systems, such as RSAand ECC, rely on problems that are hard to solve using classical methods. Quantum algorithms likeShor’s and Grover’s could break these systems, putting secure data at risk. This article explainsthese threats in simple terms and explores two main solutions. One is quantum cryptography, which uses the rules of quantum physics to share secret keys safely. The other is post-quantumcryptography, which creates new math-based methods that even quantum computers cannot easilybreak. Both approaches have strengths and challenges. Together, they offer a path toward securecommunication in the future. This article gives an overview of how we can protect our digitalworld against quantum threats.
