Silent Echo of Honour, From Tradition to Tragedy The Unseen World of Honor Killings

This research explores a very critical problem in Pakistan where some women, usually in the care of men, mutilate or kill their female kin to guard what they perceive to be the honor of the family. We need to know why this is occurring by looking into the societal and cultural reasons behind it. We asked students about their opinions concerning things such as gender roles and adhering to cultural norms. What we have discovered is that many of these dangerous acts, honour killings, are occurring in Pakistan. Some individuals still uphold conventional beliefs and, in some cases, believe it's alright to commit the crime. This study reveals that the issue of honour killings has roots in embedded cultural perceptions, particularly the woman's role in maintaining family honour. In order to prevent these activities, we should oppose such antiquated notions, promote women's autonomy, and dispel illusions regarding cultural and religious norms. In order to improve, we recommend that efforts be made in the form of educating people so that such archaic notions may be replaced with new ones, community awareness drives, and streamlining the justice system so that these things could be tackled effectively. This study will assist in the continued campaign to prevent such injurious traditions in Pakistan.
