"Contrário à Natureza": A Enxertia da Oliveira Brava em Romanos 11:17 à Luz da Tradição Judaica e da Agricultura Antiga
Paul uses the agricultural metaphor of grafting to illustrate the inclusion of the Gentilesinto the people of God. This article critically analyzes the metaphor in contrast withknown agronomic practices in the Greco-Roman world and rabbinic legislation from theSecond Temple period. It argues that the rhetorical use of a “contrary to nature” graftingintentionally subverts both agricultural and halakhic expectations to highlight divinesovereignty in the formation of the messianic community.
