THE IMPACT OF CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY ON ASSESSING DISCOURSE COMPETENCE IN HIGH SCHOOL LEARNERS
Classrooms are getting more culturally and linguistically varied in today's environment of growing globalization. Students in high school frequently have diverse origins, which contributes to their distinct viewpoints and communication preferences. Although this diversity enhances the educational setting, it also makes evaluating discourse competency more difficult. A key component of students' academic and social success is discourse competence, or the capacity to use language in a variety of social circumstances in an appropriate and successful manner. Nonetheless, language and cultural variety may affect how pupils exhibit this proficiency, necessitating that teachers modify their evaluation strategies.
