Case studies about archaeological looting and trafficking of cultural goods
The PITCHER project (Erasmus+ Programme, 2021-2024) designed and tested a set of Open Educational Resources focused on improving the capacity of teachers and educators in preparing new learning experiences to support the fight against archaeological looting and illicit trafficking of cultural goods. This educational resource provides teachers with well-documented examples to help them cover the full range of subjects relating to archaeological looting and the illicit trafficking of cultural goods. A database enables them toselect the most relevant examples according to criteria linked to the characteristics of the objects (period and country of origin, type of object, materials), the circumstances of their theft or looting, the trafficking to which they were subjected, their possible return and, in the case of the French version, their relevance to school curricula.
