Enhancing Energy Efficiency in Micro-Apartments using Phase Change Materials: A Case Study in Alexandria, Egypt
The uploads to the Zenodo data repository facilitate the publication of a thesis case study, which is intended for submission to a journal. This collection includes essential materials such as simulation screenshots that illustrate the proposed scenarios concerning the RT24HC phase change material (PCM) integrated into the walls and roof of a residential micro-apartment in Alexandria, Egypt with the addition of selective passive design startegies. Additionally, I have uploaded the DesignBuilder file for reference, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the modeling process, in both dsb and excel format. An Excel sheet containing tables of the Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) and Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) numerical statistics is also included; these statistics were instrumental in identifying the most energy-efficient scenario for the design. This structured approach ensures that all relevant data is accessible and supports the reproducibility of my findings. Alexandria's weather file that has been implemented in the simulation has been uploaded as well in both wea and pdf formats.
