AZERBAIJAN-ITALIAN RELATIONS: STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN A CHANGING WORLD

Azerbaijan and Italy with their unique geopolitical and economic positions have managed to transform their relations into a strategic partnership over the past decades, covering key areas such as politics, economics, energy, culture and humanitarian spheres. In the context of global challenges, when energy security and new forms of economic cooperation come to the fore, relations between the two countries are acquiring a new dimension. Over the past years, Azerbaijan and Italy have demonstrated an example of dynamic and constructive dialogue at the highest level. It is noteworthy that since the early 2020s, several key visits by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy have taken place, which have played an important role in strengthening political ties.
