The Reality of Financial Inclusion and Crucial Issues in Yemen
This paper explores the current situation of financial inclusion in Yemen, where many people still lack access to formal banking and digital financial services. The study shows that despite some progress from 2014 to 2019, challenges like ongoing conflict, poor infrastructure, and low financial literacy continue to limit access, especially for women and those living in rural areas. It also looks at how digital payment tools and electronic wallets are being used, but highlights issues such as unreliable internet and telecommunications that hold back wider adoption. The research concludes that improving financial access in Yemen will require better infrastructure, increased education on financial services, and stronger coordination among financial institutions to support economic growth and inclusion.
