COMPETENCY-BASED APPROACH IN TRAINING FUTURE EDUCATIONAL PSY-CHOLOGISTS
Abstract In the process of training future educational psychologists, the competency-based approach has gradually become a crucial framework. This approach places greater emphasis on cultivating trainees' practical skills and knowledge, ensuring that these abilities can closely match the ever-evolving needs of the industry. This article provides a systematic analysis of the practical application of this approach, integrating empirical studies and theoretical viewpoints to assess its impact on professional development. Research shows that competency-based training can significantly improve trainees' professional readiness, adaptability, and ethical decision-making. By employing structured competency frameworks, educational programs can optimize learning outcomes and ensure alignment with real-world professional challenges. Key implementation strategies include experiential learning, mentorship, and continuous assessment. Future research should explore the long-term career development of graduates who trained by competency-based model in order to verify the effectiveness of this approach. This study emphasizes that it is essential to integrate the competency-based approach into the psychology curriculum system. This integration helps to bridge the long-standing gap between academic preparation and professional practice. In the long run, this training approach not only enhances practitioners' adaptability in the workplace but also promotes the continuous development of the discipline of educational psychology.
