Financial Inclusion and Digital Banking for Underserved Communities in India
Financial inclusion, the process of ensuring access to and usage of affordable financial services for all individuals and businesses, is a critical driver of inclusive economic growth.1 In India, despite significant progress, a substantial portion of the population, particularly in underserved communities, remains excluded from the formal financial system. This research paper examines the role of digital banking in advancing financial inclusion for these communities. It analyzes the challenges and opportunities associated with digital financial services, explores the impact of government initiatives, and proposes strategies for fostering sustainable and inclusive financial ecosystems.
