Large Language Models (LLMs) are Next Word Predictors
LLMs such as GPT and Bard are incredibly advanced next-word predictors trained on large data sets, where training, in the LLM context, gives the model the ability to recognise language patterns and make educated predictions. Its underlying capability underpins various applications, from content generation to translation to reasoning. While they lack true human-like intelligence, their scales and potential are too much beneficial in all fields.
