False aneurysm of the femoral artery. A case report
Background: Pseudoaneurysms are lesions that affect only one of the walls of arterial vascular structures, unlike true aneurysms. They can be caused by open or blunt trauma, or previous surgical procedures. They present as palpable masses that can compress adjacent structures. Color Doppler ultrasound is able to show the characteristic Yin-Yang sign and is complemented by contrast-enhanced tomography for a better characterization of the lesions. Keywords: Pseudoaneurysm.
