This is an important step taken by the Ministry of Tourism of India to realize the dream of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” by realizing the full potential of tourist destinations. The main mantra of this scheme is "Vocal for Local". The important objective of this scheme is to encourage local industries and sustainable development of tourist destinations by providing basic services and facilities to the respective tourist centers. Also the main vision of this scheme is to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations in the country and to develop tourism hubs in partnership with the state government to promote sustainable and responsible tourism destinations in the country and to create a strong framework for integrated development of tourism destinations and the strategic objective of this scheme is To increase the contribution of tourism to the local economy, to create self-employment for the local community, to increase the skills of local youth in the tourism and hospitality sector, to increase investment in the tourism and hospitality sector, to promote local cultural and natural resources. Swadesh Darshan 2.0 has been implemented by the Ministry of Tourism of India to develop a “Atmanirbhar Bharat” by the Government of India with numerous objectives in mind such as conservation.
