PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF MULTIPLIERS WITH DIFFERENT ADDER CONFIGURATIONS
Abstract: One of the significant and fundamental process in DSP and Microprocessor ALUs is the multiplication. As multiplication accounts for the more execution time and high power consumption in DSP applications, low-power and high-speed multipliers are required for next-generation computers. In this paper, two multipliers are implemented using three different adder configurations. A comprehensive analysis of the performance of various types of multipliers, including the Conventional Multiplier, Booth Multiplier employing Full Adder, Carry Save Adder(CSA) and Carry Look Ahead Adder(CLAA) is presented. When compared to other multipliers, the Booth multiplier with Full adder configuration takes up less space and consumes less power. The simulation and synthesis were performed using Xilinx vivado software Tool.
