Investigation on Density and Water Absorption of Chemically Treated Bamboo Fiber/Carbon fiber/Graphene reinforced Polymer Matrix Composites Polymer
Material selection is crucial for determining and improving material properties. The natural fibers reinforcement plays a significant role in the polymer material system while forming composite. The aim of this study is to develop the hybrid composites with Carbon fiber, bamboo fiber, Graphene (filler), and epoxy (resin) using the Hand layup technique. Carbon fibers and bamboo fibers were bonded with epoxy resin, and 1 %, 1.5%, and 2% Graphene (fillers) was added throughout the production process. The produced material was machined according to ASTM specifications for Density and Water absorption test . The outcome of the result revealed that there is significant increase in material performance of the developed chemically treated bamboo fiber and carbon fiber reinforced with epoxy resin polymer hybrid composites.
