Biosimulation of cyst growth effect on the distribution of stresses and strains within the bone, an answer to the old question of why we have cystic wall corticalization?

Tumors have many stages and grades. Stages depend upon many factors, such as size. Tumors pass through many steps to reach enormous sizes in many instances. When reaching large sizes, the distribution of the strains and stresses within the skeletal environment will be changed. These changes had many biomechanical rules. We had introduced a model for capturing a significant change in this distribution. This model needs more tuning in terms of better characterization of the features and boundary conditions.

Abstract

Tumors have many stages and grades. Stages depend upon many factors, such as size. Tumors pass through many steps to reach enormous sizes in many instances. When reaching large sizes, the distribution of the strains and stresses within the skeletal environment will be changed. These changes had many biomechanical rules. We had introduced a model for capturing a significant change in this distribution. This model needs more tuning in terms of better characterization of the features and boundary conditions.
