Abstract Organizational change is a necessary process for growth and adaptation, but its impact on employee motivation can significantly influence workplace productivity and performance. This study examines the effect of change on employee motivation in Wardi Organization, Mogadishu, Somalia. The research explores how changes in management, structure, policies, and work environment affect employees’ engagement, satisfaction, and performance. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected through surveys and interviews with employees and management at Wardi Organization. The findings indicate that change can either enhance or reduce motivation depending on how it is managed. Positive effects include increased motivation when employees are involved in decision-making and provided with clear communication about changes. However, negative effects arise when changes are abrupt, poorly communicated, or lack employee participation, leading to uncertainty, resistance, and decreased morale. The study underscores the need for effective change management strategies that prioritize employee engagement and motivation. Recommendations include transparent communication, employee training programs, and structured leadership support to facilitate smooth transitions during organizational change. These findings provide valuable insights for managers, HR professionals, and policymakers aiming to enhance employee motivation and performance during periods of change.
