ENTROPY AND CRYSTAL MOTION BASED ON SCIENCE AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES: LOW POLARIZATION AND HIGH ENTROPY EUTECTIC ELECTROLYTE FOR CYLINDRICAL BATTERIES
Annotation: This study proposes an innovative approach for cylindrical zinc-ion batteries based on a low-polarization, high-entropy eutectic electrolyte. A high-entropy deep eutectic solution (HEDES) was developed as the electrolyte, and low desolvation energy and high stability were achieved by rearranging the traditional DES solvation structure. The study investigated the relationship between solvation structures and entropy using molecular dynamics and density functional theory. As a result, high-performance zinc-ion capacitors with stable zinc coating/uncoating over 2000 hours and over 8000 cycles were fabricated using the HEDES electrolyte.
