Emerging Trends and Challenges in Mobile Cloud Computing - A Comprehensive Survey

Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) integrates mobile computing and cloud services to overcome the inherent resource constraints of mobile devices, such as limited processing power, storage, and battery life. This paper presents a comprehensive survey of recent advances in MCC, including architectural frameworks, security mechanisms, computation offloading strategies, and energy optimization techniques. Emphasis is placed on emerging trends involving 5G, edge computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) integration. The challenges related to dynamic offloading, privacy preservation, and resource management are critically analyzed. Future research directions are proposed to enable robust, efficient, and scalable MCC systems for nextgeneration mobile applications.
