ESTUDANTES INDÍGENAS NA UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DO CENTRO-OESTE DO PARANÁ (BRASIL): avaliações e significados sobre a inserção no curso de Pedagogia Indígena
In this presentation, a preliminary analysis of interviews conducted with Indigenous students from the Indigenous Pedagogy Program at the State University of Central-West (Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste), located in South Brazil, will be presented. The analysis focuses on the evaluations and meanings attributed to their integration into the university, considering the demands of Indigenous peoples and the individual and collective expectations regarding higher education. The presentation is based on an ongoing research project titled Indigenous Students at the State University of Central-West of Paraná: History, Education, and Ethnic-Racial Relations. The main objective of this project is to access the experiences, memories, and assessments of Indigenous students regarding their trajectories in the university's undergraduate programs. The study also aims to discuss ethnic-racial relations in higher education involving Indigenous students from the Kaingang and Guarani ethnic groups and understand meanings of belonging, sociocultural differentiation, encounters, and possible stigmatizations.
