ПОСТАТЬ МИТРОПОЛИТА ПЕТРА МОГИЛИ В СОЦІОКУЛЬТУРНОМУ ПРОСТОРІ РЕСПУБЛІКИ МОЛДОВА

Summary. The article by Viktor and Kateryna Kozhuhar is dedicated to the outstandingfigure of Metropolitan Peter Mohyla in the socio-cultural space of the Republic of Moldova. Theauthors emphasize his contribution to the establishment of Orthodoxy and spirituality in Ukraineand Moldova, his cultural and educational activities. Petro Mohyla, a descendant of the Moldavianprincely family, had close ties with Moldova, contributed to the development of book printing, inparticular in Wallachia and Moldova, supported the creation of the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academyin Iasi. Its cultural heritage is preserved even in modern Moldova. The image of Peter Mohyla isreflected in monuments, in the artistic heritage of members of the Charitable Fund of Artists andFolk Craftsmen of Ukrainian Origin «Renaissance», in educational and cultural initiatives, such asassigning the name of the metropolitan to public organizations and educational institutions, etc.Key words: Metropolitan Petro Mohyla, Moldova, Ukraine, commemoration.
