This study focuses on the conversion of the Yemeni soothsayer Sawad ibn Kārib to Islam, prompted by the counsel of his jinn. The paper explores a historical narrative centered on jinn-human relations, beginning with a discussion of jinn based on the framework of Islamic revelation. According to Qur"anic descriptions, jinn are beings created from smokeless fire, endowed with intellect and free will, and, like humans, are obliged to worship Allah. They are subject to divine commands, capable of rapid movement, can glean certain knowledge from the heavens, and may engage in cooperative interactions with human beings.
