Global Submarine Landform Dataset
Diverging from conventional representations of submarine landforms, this study introduces a novel perspective in presenting a global submarine landform map, offering a fresh cognitive approach to understanding seafloor features. Regarding the classification of submarine landform, this research is based on division of flat regions and steep regions. Considering depth ranges and relief characteristics, the result includes six primary types and a total of 21 specific types. This classification approach differs from previous standards and category definitions for submarine landform (Harris et al., 2014), yet effectively captures the diverse and complex morphological features of seafloor terrain.
