Blood Culture Positive Infections in Maintenance Hemodialysis - Clinical Profile in a South Indian Tertiary Care Hospital
Background - Infections in individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis are more prone to other diseases as well as fatalities. Predisposing causes for infections in such cases are unclear. Identification of at-risk patients could help at mitigating these risk factors and help in more targeted interventions, for better prognosis. This will help in achieving the third goal of “Good Health and Well-Being” of the 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals as described by United Nations.
