Ethics, Attitude, and Health Communication in Community Health Practice: Implications for the Nigerian Health System
Community health practice involves the application of public health principles to improve the health of populations, especially at the grassroots level. In Nigeria, Community Health Officers (CHOs), Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), Junior CHEWs (JCHEWs), and other cadres are central to implementing primary health care (PHC) services. The effectiveness of these roles, however, depends not only on technical knowledge but also on ethical behaviour, professional attitude, and the ability to communicate health information effectively.
