Revitalising Tertiary Education in South West Nigeria: Exploring the impact of Effective Educational Administration

The study examined the Revitalising Tertiary Education in South West Nigeria: Exploring the impact of Effective Educational Administration. To achieve the purpose of the study, three (3) objectives of the study, three (3) research questions and three (3) null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study made use of descriptive survey design. The population of the study consisted of 1,750 male and female administrative staff of Federal University of Technology Akure in Ondo State. The sample size of the study was 400 staff. This figure was generated using Taro Yemane Formula. The study made use of simple sampling techniques. The instrument used for data collection was a self-structured questionnaire titled: Exploring the Impact of Effective Educational Administration Questionnaire. The data gathered were analyzed using weighted mean and standard deviations for the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested using t-test transformation statistic at 0.05 level of significance. Based on the data analysis, the findings revealed that strategic planning, technological integration and policy implications of educational administration have positive and significant impact in revitalising tertiary education in South West Nigeria. Based on the findings of the study, the study recommended that: educational managers should prioritize strategic planning as a fundamental pillar of institutional management, Institutions are encouraged to embrace emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and adaptive learning systems to enhance the overall learning experience and Institutions should actively participate in global education networks, conferences, and consortia to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends. And implement policies that will enhance the actualization of international standard.
