Linear Programming for Efficient Water Distribution: Optimizing Resource Allocation and Cost Management

Abstract: Water is a vital resource, and its efficient distribution is crucial for sustainable development. With increasing population and climate change, the demand for water is rising, while supply remains limited. Efficient water distribution is essential for addressing the increasing demand for water.Water can be classified according to its usage purposes since it is used for human consumption, industrial usage, agriculture, etc. Thus, effective strategies are necessary to manage and optimize water distribution. Linear Programming (LP) provides a mathematical approach to optimizing water allocation. This paper explores the application of linear programming (LP) to optimize water distribution systems, focusing on resource allocation and cost management. By formulating the water distribution problem as a linear programming model, we aim to minimize costs while ensuring equitable and efficient water distribution
