THE IMPACT OF EXTERNAL MIGRATION PROCESSES ON SOCIAL MOBILITY IN UZBEKISTAN: A TRANSFORMATIONAL APPROACH

This research deeply investigates the impact of external labor migration on social mobility in Uzbekistan based on a transformational approach. Migration is analyzed not only as an economic factor but also as a dynamic source of structural social change. The study develops the concept of transformational mobility using modern sociological theories, particularly the approaches of A. Giddens, Z. Bauman, and U. Beck. Based on empirical data, the study explores the intensity of external migration across Uzbek regions and the changes in the social positions of returning migrants. A GIS-based regional social mobility map was developed. The study concludes with practical recommendations for monitoring social mobility, implementing comprehensive programs for returning migrants, mitigating interregional disparities, and institutionalizing migration policy.
