TRIALS AND TRIUMPHS OF WOMEN IN EDUCATION: CHALLENGES, RESILIENCE, AND SUCCESS STORIES
This qualitative study explores the lived experiences of 11 female educators from the College of Education at Bulacan State University, Philippines. It examines the challenges they face, the strategies they employ to overcome these obstacles, and the factors that contribute to their professional achievements. Using narrative and phenomenological methods, the research analyzes responses from survey questionnaires to understand the impact of gender-based discrimination, societal expectations, and institutional barriers on their careers. Findings reveal significant challenges, such as difficulties in balancing work and family life, limited opportunities for career advancement, and deeply ingrained gender stereotypes. The study also highlights the importance of coping mechanisms, including mentorship, social support, and advocacy, in fostering resilience. Based on these insights, the research recommends the development of gender-responsive policies, initiatives to promote work-life balance, equitable career development opportunities, and the establishment of mentorship and professional development programs. These recommendations aim to advance gender equity within the educational sector.
