A LITERATURE REVIEW ON COCONUT WASTE APPLICATIONS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
The disposal of agricultural waste, including coconut waste, poses significant environmental concerns. With the increasing demand for sustainable materials in construction, coconut waste, such as coconut husk, coir, and shell, has gained attention as a valuable resource in civil engineering applications. This paper provides a comprehensive review of existing research on the use of coconut waste in civil engineering, highlighting its mechanical properties, environmental benefits, and economic potential. The focus is on its application in concrete production, soil stabilization, geotextiles, and thermal insulation. The review concludes with recommendations for future research and the potential challenges in widespread adoption.
