USING AUTHENTIC MATERIALS TO TEACH GRAMMAR COMPETENCE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL LEARNERS
This study investigates the effects of teaching grammar proficiency to middle school students using real materials. Real-world language exposure through authentic materials, such news stories, ads, or movie lines, promotes linguistic accuracy and student engagement. The study assesses how integrating these materials increases retention, helps students grasp grammatical structures, and closes the gap between theoretical grammar and real-world application. There is also discussion of the difficulties and methods for effective implementation in middle school classes.
