A Review on the Compatibility for Implementation of Rainwater Harvesting System
Water is a fundamental resource vital for human existence. Water harvesting refers to the process of directly collecting rainwater, which can either be stored for immediate use or utilized to replenish groundwater supplies. With the growth of the global population, there is a corresponding rise in the demand for high-quality drinking water. Rainwater harvesting, a traditional practice, is increasingly being embraced by various countries as a sustainable decentralized water supply solution. With its potent remote sensing and GIS tools, geoinformatics has become a cutting-edge technology for planners, policymakers, urban administrators, and other professionals involved in the growth and regulation of urban/regional activities for better planning and prudent management. This paper examines the methodologies, design considerations of rainwater harvesting systems, and their effects as implemented across different regions worldwide.
