Xenoglossa (Peponapis) pruinosa

Xenoglossa (Peponapis) pruinosa (Say, 1837) [♀ ♂ United States] This species was previously reported by Ayala et al. (1996) in the BCP, but no publicly available records were found. This species specializes on the pollen from squash plants in the genus Cucurbita L. (Hurd & Linsley 1964). The BBPT collected 251 specimens (196 ♂, 55 ♀) in Cucurbita pepo L. crops in the Coastal Sage Matorral and Chaparral ecoregions of BC in 2020. Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 118.
