Mastering RDM Advanced Module II: Qualitative Research Data
The course on qualitative research data places special emphasis on research ethics, the work of ethics committees, and issuing applications to them as well as anonymization and informed consent. The slides are part of the project "RDM curriculum Campus Luzern", which was partially funded by swissuniversities. Through this initiative, the University of Lucerne, in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), the University of Teacher Education Lucerne (UTE, PH Luzern), and the Lucerne Central and University Library (ZHB) has enhanced its research data management (RDM) training for researchers. The program began with an introductory module that familiarized researchers with the fundamentals of RDM. Building on this foundation, advanced modules were developed to address specific needs: one focused on qualitative data and the other on quantitative data. Each module explored targeted thematic areas and incorporated keynotes, field reports from researchers, and interactive discussions. These modules, offered through the "Campus Luzern" initiative, were accessible to researchers from all participating institutions. The "Campus Luzern" promotes collaboration among the three HEIs in Lucerne to enhance doctoral education. Courses that meet a certain workload are awarded ECTS credits. This also allows the RDM modules to be accredited and officially recognized.
