COVID-19 PANDEMIC: AS A GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS
This study offers an assessment of the real impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the world economy. This research examines key indicators of an economic crisis that has emerged during the pandemic, the varied impact of the pandemic across regions as well as the effectiveness of measures taken by governments to alleviate the economic effects of the pandemic. Results show that the pandemic has damaged the world's city-health systems, the most unprecedented ever seen, and in its path, the world economic framework, although some countries managed to strategize on approaches to mitigate effects of the crisis. This study adds to the body of existing literature on the economic consequences of global health emergencies and effective policies resultant.
