The Intersection of Autobiography and Spirituality in the Works of Paulo Coelho
Nowadays, secular contexts increasingly use the term "spirituality," and no particular religious tradition anymore implies it. Prayer and religious practice are only part of what spirituality encompasses. It relates to all aspects of human life, whether one believes or not, as seen through a relationship with the divine. There has always been mysticism in the world's religions and cultures. It has been used to correctly and sometimes incorrectly interpret the mysterious and exotic experiences of a few select individuals, as if they were part of some extraordinary and colourful group. Awakening occurs as a result of a mystical experience. In this connection, how Coelho depicts the everyday lives of various characters with a mystical undercurrent in a few of his novels and spiritual exercises, respectively, is the main focus of this paper.
