THE MASTER-SALVE RELATIONSHIP IN PAMUK'S NOVEL THE WHITE CASTLE AND THE STORY OF PROPHET JOSEPH

The master-slave relationship is a term used by many scholars to investigate the bonds between the master and the slave. The investigations will be more influential if we realize that the slave is an educated man and the master admires him at the time he considers him as his master. I examined this coexistence between the master and the slave in two different stories, The White Castle and the story of Prophet Joseph. I choose these two stories, especially the master-salve relationship theme, in order to prove that the erudite man should not treat as a slave and the one who has a lack of knowledge should not treat as a master. Another opinion revolved throughout the paper which is there is no different among human beings, we all created free and no one has the right to control the destiny of the human unless he creates them. I refer to an important wondering by Frederick Douglass about the mastery and slavery notions.
