Water Policy of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule
Abstract: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was a social reformer, thinker, and activist who worked for the upliftment of marginalized communities in India. While he did not explicitly formulate a "water policy" in modern terms, his ideas and work emphasized water accessibility, equitable distribution, and the upliftment of lower-caste communities, particularly to water rights. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule fought for these two causes, water and agriculture, which are essential for farmers, throughout his life. He had done a more in-depth study than the modern commission could have done. He had expressed his views on water in books like Farmers' Asud and Slavery. Whatever Phule said about water is, in a sense, called water policy. In a country like India, Phule's name can be taken with respect today as an expert who studies water and agriculture scientifically, who properly presents the problems of water issues and suggests solutions to them
