FIGHTING CORRUPTION AND FINANCIAL CRIMES IN THE STATE OF PARÁ
It can be said that corruption in Brazil is a multifaceted and systemic phenomenon, rooted in complex interactions between political, economic, and social institutions. In this vein, the overall objective of this research is to analyze the productivity of the State Directorate for Combating Corruption (Decor) of the Civil Police of Pará since its creation, through the compilation and evaluation of the institution's main performance variables. The method adopted is field research with a mixed approach. The survey procedure was based on secondary data extracted from legal documents and specialized literature. For data analysis, two main techniques were used: (i) documentary content analysis applied to the fight against corruption and (ii) analysis of temporal data, collected directly from the Decor system, from may 2019 to january 2024. The results show that this effort by the institution has yielded some relevant results within each specialized division, with particular emphasis on the recovery of evaded taxes. It is concluded that the normative structuring and the contribution of human resources to the anti-corruption unit of the Civil Police of Pará had a direct impact on the institution's productivity indicators in combating this criminal niche.
