Acompanhamento de Queimadas e Análise da Recuperação da Vegetação no Parque Nacional do Pantanal Mato-Grossense nos Anos de 2020 e 2021

Despite the protection provided by Conservation Units (CUs), wildfires still present significant challenges. In 2020, the Pantanal MatogrossenseNational Park (PNPM) was the CU with the highest records of heat spots for the biome. This study utilized remote sensing tools with satellite images and NDVI calculations to monitor and measure the impacts on vegetation. Vegetation vigor and biomass were analyzed using NDVI indices, comparing both years, along with visual image comparisons. Despite the apparent recovery, the ecological succession process requires time for the degraded plant community to reach a more advanced successional stage. Keywords: Pantanal Matogrossense National Park; wildfires; vegetation recovery; NDVI; remote sensing
