The Impact of Technology in Construction Project Management.

ABSTRACT This study conducts a systematic evaluation of modern technology use in construction project management based on Mogadishu, Somalia. Rapid urbanization and infrastructure development in Mogadishu necessitate the efficient utilization of modern technologies to address construction challenges and improve project outcomes. Through a comprehensive analysis of current practices, challenges, and opportunities, this evaluation aims to provide insights and recommendations for enhancing technology adoption in the construction industry/Companies. The evaluation encompasses an examination of the existing technology landscape in Mogadishu, including the adoption patterns of modern tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), project management software, and digital communication platforms. Challenges and barriers hindering technology adoption, including infrastructure limitations, skills gaps, and regulatory constraints, are identified and analyzed. Opportunities for improvement, including strategies for infrastructure development, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement, are explored to facilitate the effective integration of modern technologies into construction practices. A cost-benefit analysis is conducted to assess the financial and non-financial implications of technology adoption, considering factors such as project efficiency, quality, and environmental sustainability. Questionnaire survey and best practices focusing on Construction Companies, senior and Juniors Engineers from Mogadishu and similar contexts are examined to extract lessons learned and inform recommendations for implementation. These recommendations encompass actionable strategies for enhancing technology adoption, addressing regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of innovation in construction project management. By addressing these key aspects, this systematic evaluation contributes to the advancement of technology use in construction project management in Mogadishu, Somalia. The findings and recommendations presented in this study serve as a valuable resource for construction stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers seeking to optimize technology use and drive sustainable development in the region's construction Companies.
