The Effect of Creative Activities and Infographic Techniques on Student Achievement in the Unit of Properties of Matter in Science Education

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of creative activities and infographic techniques on students' academic achievement in teaching the unit of properties of matter in the 4th grade science course. The research was designed as a quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study consisted of 72 fourth grade students studying in primary schools in Türkiye. In the study, two experimental groups and one control group were randomly formed, with creative activities and infographic techniques used separately in the experimental groups, while the methods from the current curriculum were applied in the control group. The properties of matter achievement test was used as a data collection tool. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the pre-test achievement total scores in this study, it was determined that the pre-test results of the achievement test averages of the students between the groups were close to each other, but the difference did not constitute a statistically significant difference. In addition, as a result of the data obtained from the research, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the academic achievement post-test results of the experimental groups of the students participating in the research, but there were statistically significant differences between each of the experimental groups and the control group.
