ADVANCING UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES PILOTS TRAINING: INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES AND GAMIFIED LEARNING FOR ENHANCED SKILLS ACQUISITION
Abstract The rapid advancement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) technology has led to a surge in demand for trained drone pilots, underscoring the critical need for the development of effective training programs. This research examines the potential of interactive technologies and gamified learning to enhance the training of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilots, with the aim of improving the acquisition and retention of skills and knowledge among learners. The study examines the impact of simulation environments, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), gamification, and human-drone interaction (HDI) on the development of comprehensive and engaging training experiences. The findings demonstrate that simulation environments provide secure and regulated environments for the rehearsal of flight abilities, whereas AR enhances situational awareness, and VR offers immersive and personalized learning experiences. The incorporation of gamification elements has been shown to enhance engagement and motivation, which in turn leads to improved learning outcomes. Furthermore, studies on human-computer interaction (HCI) have informed the design of intuitive controls and feedback systems. The combination of these technologies has significant implications for enhancing the efficacy, safety, and skill development of unmanned aerial vehicle pilot training. Further research should concentrate on long-term studies, the development of standardized assessment instruments, the transfer of skills, the psychological effects of these technologies, and the optimal use of interactive technologies. The key implementation considerations comprise the establishment of industry standards, the overcoming of technological obstacles, the incorporation of ethical issues, and the adaptation to changing technologies and regulations. By persistently exploring and refining these innovative methods, the sector of UAV pilot education can cultivate a greater number of highly skilled, adaptable, and safety-focused pilots, thereby meeting the increasing demands of this evolving industry.
