A Study of Assets, Liabilities, and Risk Management of Urban Co-operative Credit Societies in Solapur District
Abstract: Urban Co-operative Credit Societies (UCCS) play a critical role in the economic development of urban areas by offering financial services, including savings, credit, and investment opportunities, particularly to low-income and middle-class populations. Solapur, a district in Maharashtra, has seen substantial growth in UCCS over the years. This paper presents a study on the assets, liabilities, and risk management practices of these societies, focusing on their financial health and sustainability. It examines the trends in assets and liabilities, the risk management frameworks they employ, and the challenges they face in an increasingly competitive financial environment. The study further investigates the impact of regulatory changes on their financial stability and growth
