Factors Affecting Community Development Projects Sustainability in Hargeisa, The Case of Study Taakulo Somali Community

ABSTRACT This is a research paper entitled Factors Affecting Community Development Projects Sustainabilityin Hargeisa, case study Taakulo Somali Community Organization. The research realized that most of the projects, especially community development are not sustainable and have no use after implementation. This is why the study was undertaken by the researcher. This study was directed and guided by objectives, but more importantly specific objectives: namely to determine the relationship between community engagement, local government involvement, all levels of management, and sustainability of community development projects. The study employed the descriptive research design and the main instrument for the data collection was a questionnaire. This study employed bar charts and graphs for the profile of the respondents while mean and standard deviation wereused to determine the relationships between all the independent variables and the dependent variable. This study intended to determine the relationship between community engagement and project sustainability in Taakulo projects. The research results indicated that there is a positive relationship with strong significance between community engagement and project sustainability in Taakulo projects. The study also intended to determine the relationship between strategic management and project sustainability in Taakulo projects. The research results indicated that there is a low negative relationship between strategic management and project sustainability in Taakulo projects. The study intended to determine the relationship between local government engagement and project sustainability in projects. The research results indicated that there is a positive relationship with significant between local government engagement and project sustainability in Taakulo.
